Original Music

Assorted

Here's some various music I've written over the years that I'm willing to share. I'm really not that great at writing music yet. I've been getting better in the past year.

I started writing music in late 2000, when I discovered a program my brother had been using to write songs, Anvil Studio - the crappiest, free software you can get. Although it did teach me a lot about sight reading and sequencing, General MIDI generally sucks (in my case).

Not all of these are finished; many of them are just for kicks. If you're looking for the good stuff, I recommend anything post-2005. Thanks for hosting these, spamtron of Mega Twerp!

Cyrinite
June 2006
I wrote this as an entry for thecreeper's monthly original music competition. The theme was "Unexpected", and people were to write a song out of their normal style. This one came out in 1st. I'm really glad how it turned out.
The Moon Swing
September 2005
Short little groove. I wanted to write some kind of dreamy/synth song, and this was the product of me playing around in Cubase one day...
9 to the 8 izzle
October 2004
This was done for the G-MIDI compo, Kwakfest. I believe it was my first entry. I'm not used to writing songs in an hour, so that's why you'll hear the spastic muted trumpet in the beginning. I'm planning a full production of this soon.
Photosynthshizzle
December 2003
This one's just for fun. I had to write a rap song for my Biology class, so a couple people and I could stand up and make asses of ourselves.
progproject
November 2003
This is around the time I started using soundfonts a lot. This was done all in FruityLoops. This was kind of a pre-cursor to my band, Mindset.
Ninja Gaiden Song

(MIDI)

July 2003
I wrote this song one night after coming off work with this melody in my head. I thought it sounded Ninja Gaiden-ish, so I wrote it in MIDI and then started recording a "cover" of it.

I posted a thread on the Shizz with the "cover" and MIDI saying it was a hidden track on the Ninja Gaiden NSF. Only a few people caught on...It was pretty funny. My old buddy radne made an NSF out of it in Nerdtracker.

February 2003
This is my "emo" song that I wrote for a girl, not long before I realized she was just a tease. Can't find the guitar version of this.
RPG Battle
July 2002
I wrote this while on a vacation to Vancouver B.C. on my laptop.

Mindset

Short-lived band that I was in for just a couple months in early 2004. I teamed up with the only other really serious guitar player at my old high school, along with his bass buddy. The drummer was new, but could do some pretty sweet beats.

We only played a couple shows. Here's a few of the old songs in MIDI format.

Song 5
April 2004
The last song we did. Actually, it was written all by me, before our first and only show. Needed the set material. The live version included a lot of guitar wankery.
Song 3
March 2004
I wanted this one to be our "clean" sounding song. There's supposed to be a guitar solo at 0:53.
Song 2
March 2004
This our second song, written by me. I totally stole the Dancing Mad bass line.
